MCSA Announces 2nd-Annual Statewide Conference

MCSA announces its 2014 summer conference for educators, reformers, and innovators in Mississippi who are passionate about public education and charter schools. This one-day training session on July 23rd, from 8:30am until 3:30pm in Jackson, MS, is designed for all persons thinking about applying to the Mississippi Charter School Authorizer Board to open a charter school. This conference aims to empower future charter leaders with knowledge for the development of a competitive charter application and an effective charter school.

If you have found yourself asking any of the questions below, reserve your spot TODAY and join us in your journey to start a quality charter school that provides a strong school choice option for your community:

      • Mississippi passed a charter school law in 2013. What does that mean for my community and how can I prepare a strong application to meet the needs of my community?
      • Which students need a better option, and how do we recruit them?
      • What is the difference between a founding team and a governing board?
      • What does a strong school leadership team look like?

  • -Hear from a nationally recognized community organizer on how to recruit the students most in need of better options
  • -Obtain authorizing process insights regarding Mississippi’s first authorizing cycle from a member of the MS Charter School Authorizer Board
  • -Network with potential partners and like-minded game-changers
  • -Learn more about MCSA’s New School Development program, to launch in the fall of 2014

Tickets are $40 and lunch is included. Register HERE by July 20th, and be ready for a day full of learning and networking!
